We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our Claridge Court community. On Monday, November 2nd, we tested all of our health center residents for the virus. While most of our test results were negative, we learned on Tuesday, November 3rd, that two of our health center residents tested positive for COVID-19. By way of recap, we have seven total active health center resident cases of the virus and all are being cared for in a special COVID-19 isolation area within our community.
As previously communicated, we have two total active team member cases of COVID-19, and both are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
If you are identified as having had prolonged contact with any individuals who test positive for COVID-19, you will be contacted and instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, per the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Johnson County Community Health Services and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
We understand that you have concerns about the current COVID-19 status in our community, and many of you have questions. Please know we continue in our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members. Our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
As a reminder, Lifespace and Claridge Court are continuing to follow heightened infection control guidelines. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Continued attention to proper hand hygiene, including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, is essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will regularly communicate updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Claridge Court management team.
Thank you for your continued support.
